Scientists at CERN have reported on their first significant evidence for a process predicted by theory, paving the way for searches for evidence of new physics in particle processes that could explain dark matter and other mysteries of the universe.
UK Research and Innovation has awarded £3 million to support six research networks that will investigate solutions to air pollution.
International researchers have used the newest instrument at the Science and Technology Facilities Council’s ISIS Neutron and Muon Source to form and study interlocked self-assembled rings, made solely from one molecular ingredient. This could lead to the development of new materials in the future and has the potential to advance the development of molecular machines.
